Biography
John Medica serves as senior vice president, Product Group. In this role, he is responsible, along with Alex Gruzen, for worldwide development, marketing, quality and delivery into manufacturing of all Dell notebooks, desktops, imaging & printing, displays and other peripherals, as well as the strategic technology direction for Dell.
Mr. Medica joined Dell in 1993 to lead the company back into the global notebook business, which grew to more than $1 billion dollars (US) in cumulative revenues in less than three years. He has since served in numerous leadership capacities including president of Dell Japan, vice president of Worldwide Procurement, vice president of Dell’s Latitude and Transactional Product Groups and most recently led Dell’s overall Product Group activities with Jeff Clarke.
Prior to joining Dell, Mr. Medica held progressive development and operations positions over a ten-year period at Apple Computer, ranging from project leader for the Macintosh II to director of the Macintosh CPU Projects Group to senior director of Powerbook Engineering, where he led its development and successful introduction.
Mr. Medica graduated from Wake Forest University with a master’s degree in business administration and holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Manhattan College.
