Subject: Passing of my father
Mr. McCarthy,
I wanted to inform you of the passing of my father Lou Burns, Class of 1938. Lou passed peacefully after a fall necessitated a hip operation. He lived in Scottsdale AZ
He owed a lot to Manhattan College and made many great long time friends. As you may be aware, he was induced into the Athletic Hall of Fame there in the ‘90’s.
Sincerely,
His Son
Lou Burns

We are all very proud of my grandfather’s lifetime achievement’s. He truly was an inspiration to us all.
I am a track writer and am writing a mini-bio on Lou Burns (as well as his team mate Howie Borck, both outstanding half milers).
Obviously Lou was a fine runner even as a teenager, at Bryant HS. Did he leave any clippings or notes from those days ?
Best regards
