A few weeks/months? ago we had some commentary on the “quad demonstrations” in 1970. I was a sophomore living in Chrysostom Hall at the time – a time of great foment on many college campuses. At Manhattan, as I recall, things boiled over regarding a proposed tuition increase. Students thought that they should have some input into this decision, perhaps even a representative on the Board of Trustees. So for a few days in the spring of 1970 – “Jasper Liberation City” emerged on the Quad. The chant was, “no say, no pay!” Attached are two photos of Jaspers on the Quad during that time.
