HERE WE GO: BOB STEI’S MAJOR ANOUNCEMENT

So……

Let me start off by telling you a bit of a dream I had as a child and a teenager. Remember, I’m just a stupid hick from ..:namespace prefix = st1 ns = “urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags” />Randallstown, Maryland! I was obsessed with a few things: the radio industry, my birth home of Philadelphia and a rock group called The Smiths. Never in my life did I think I would live the dream of combining all three passions, until this month. It is with excitement and sadness, that I announce to you my friends, that this Saturday night will be my final night on 95.1 WZZO, as I make the transfer to my new radio challenge: weekends at WRFF 104.5 “Radio 104.5″ PHILADELPHIA!!! This is my dream come true!

The last four years in the Lehigh Valley have been some of the best times in my career and my life! I will truly look back on my Saturday programs with fondness and great memories. I’ve not only had a blast airing some crazy phone calls and sharing a part of my life, I’ve also worked with some amazingly talented people and met some friends for life. I met so many of my favorite bands and hung out at so many crazy places. You also were part of my life as I bought a house; lost 60 pounds and most importantly, I got to share the stories when my daughter was born. I can’t thank you enough for letting me be a part of your life!

It would take forever to thank every single person who helps make this happen! In my 18(wow!) years in the media, soo many great people have been by my side in every move I’ve made. However, I will take a second and thank John and Wendy from Radio 104.5’s Programming department for putting faith in me, Brian and Renie at Clear Channel for keeping me buys at the station and getting my face out there, and to my friends Soscia, Meg, Zach and Josh for listening to endless “air checks” and answering a million times, “How does this sound?” Most importantly, I thank the two most important people in my life, my wife Melissa and my daughter Kimberly who have sacrificed many, many nights and weekends, and are as excited about Daddy being home as I am!

For now, you can catch me Sunday evenings on Radio 104.5 or www.radio1045.com from 6-9pm. I honestly can say, musically this is the greatest radio station in the world!

This Saturday I look forward to one more night at WZZO, and hopefully we’ll decide where to celebrate afterwards. I will keep this my space, and all my other contact information the same. I truly can not thank all of my listeners and co-workers at WZZO enough for everything! Not bad for a dumb hick from Randallstown, Maryland.

With love and gratitude,

Bob Stei
