Cesare Gentile
GENTILE – Cesare, of Holbrook, NY, on July 19, 2008 in his 71st year. Born in Brooklyn, on December 12, 1936. Devoted husband of Janice Gentile for 49 years. Beloved father of Susan Gentile-Hackett, Michael Gentile, Raymond Gentile, Laura Gentile-Bagot and the late Diane Gentile. Loving brother of Anita Gentile of Boynton Beach, Florida. Respected grandfather of Andrew, Samantha, Mathew, Michael Cesare Jr., Domenic, Theodore, Leonardo, and William Thomas Cesare. Cesare was a graduate of Brooklyn Tech, received a Bachelor of Civil Engineering from Manhattan College, and a Master of Science from Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn. Cesare was a licensed Professional Engineer and retired from the NY State Department of Transportation after 33 years. He was the proud founder and chairman of the L.I.E. Golf League, and received the honors of the Third Degree of the Knights of Columbus. A beautiful and meticulous man, loyal friend, and devout Catholic, Cesare possessed unlimited spirit and love. Dad, you will live in our hearts eternally. We love you, always. Reposing Moloney’s Holbrook Funeral Home, 825 Main St., Holbrook, NY where religious services will be held 8pm Tuesday. Funeral Mass Wednesday 9:45am at Good Shepherd R.C. Church, Holbrook, NY. Interment following at Holy Rood Cemetery, Westbury, NY. Visiting Monday and Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9pm. www.moloneyfh.com

Ceasare was in the Class of 1959. the 1999 alumni directory say “BA” but that I believe is incorrect, as Cesare was a Civil Engineer his whole career. I also worked with him in both the NYS DPW and the reorganized state department into the DOT. Cesare was one year ahead of me at Manhattan.
