Superintendent praises Catholic education

GOSHEN – Since taking over this month as district superintendent for 35 Catholic schools in five counties, Mary Jane Daley has seen the inside of her office only rarely.
Instead, she’s been visiting the Catholic elementary schools in Rockland, Orange, Dutchess, Sullivan and Ulster counties, working on the evaluations of nearly 20 principals, which are due this fall, holding regional administrators meetings and arranging for curriculum training for teachers. Her territory encompasses more than 3,000 square miles, she estimated.
