I believe that this is an impotant issue and everyone in my address book, Christian or Jew, black or white, is getting a copy. If you don’t agree, just delete it but maybe, it will start you thinking. It’s worth reading even if you don’t agree. It is a bit of deep reading but might help form some arguments to oppose these views. I’m waiting for some real philosophical, ethical opposition in a debate type statement, not a rebuttal saying this is a lot of hogwash or propagana! There’s the challenge.

[JR: On a personal note, it's hard to imagine any Catholic, any purported "Catholic", or any one who aligns with "Rights" "overlooking" this aspect of O. If you're looking for the Devil's Advocate, then one could make the argument that "No one has ANY rights unless and until they are able to fight for them and then exercise them. You have to fight for, and use them. Might makes rights! You'll give me 'free speech' because if you don't I'll punch your lights out! No fights; no rights. No useages; no rights!" Hence, there is no "right to life" because that baby can't fight for its right. Therefore, the abortion issue is moot. A very brutish world. But one different ethic.]
[JR: Here's a sad commentary!]

Most analysts agree that it will not be possible for Barack Obama to win this election without the votes of the majority of Catholic voters. Measured at approximately 25% of the American electorate, Catholic voters often determine electoral outcomes in a number of important battleground states. And overall, the candidate who garners the majority of their votes, wins the national election.
According to polling data internals, the Catholic vote is still absolutely up for grabs. It’s currently split right about down the middle.
And Barack Obama has made no secret of his intention to override the Pope’s authority in seeking the Catholic vote.
