Manhattan Athletics Hall of Famer Passes Away

RIVERDALE, N.Y. � Manhattan College is deeply sadden to announce former men’s basketball standout John Marren ’70 passed away last week in Alexandria, Va. Marren was inducted to the Manhattan Athletics Hall of Fame in 1998 after a decorated playing career wearing the Kelly Green and White. He is survived by his wife, Carol Marren; one brother Lawrence Marren; numerous nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters-in-laws and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Carol Marren; one brother, Lawrence Marren; numerous nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters-in-law and friends. Friends may call at the DEMAINE FUNERAL HOME, 520 S. Washington St., Alexandria, VA 22314, where the family will be present on Tuesday, January 6 from 6 to 8 p.m., and where funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 7 at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at Fairfax Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in John’s memory to S.O.M.E., 71 O St., N.W., Washington, DC 20001.
