ADMINISTRIVIA: This week’s issue has a defective index

Defective index?

I use an open source (i.e., free) package to compose Jasper Jottings. This week, as well as in some past weeks, the index (i.e., the table of contents) does not have links just a plain text listing of the contents. I couldn’t make NVU generate the required index.

Now, I’m annoyed.

So, I’m going to either figure out why or get a better solution.

Sorry for the inconvenience, but I figured it was better to push the issue out the door than hold it for a fix.

If, or when, I do get a fix, I’ll replace it where possible. That usually would mean everywhere but the Yahoo Group and it’s associated email.

Argh! Somethings sometimes this is more frustrating than a real job. At least at a real job, I’d get paid and it wouldn’t be my problem,

Vatican confirms that Pelosi will have audience with the Pope

Vatican City, Feb 16, 2009 / 11:55 am (CNA).- On Monday at noon in Rome, the Vatican’s Press Office confirmed to CNA that Pope Benedict will be receiving U.S. Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi in an audience at noon on Wednesday.

Pelosi, a self-proclaimed “ardent Catholic” who has sparked significant criticism from fellow Catholics in the U.S. for her pro-abortion views, arrived in Italy on Sunday for an eight-day official visit.

[JR: Maybe we can pray that the Holy Father had a chance to explain the Church's position on abortion to this CINO?]

As you know, I’m always wishing that my challenges be little ones. To match my minimal skills and abilities. Maybe I’ve found one?

Now these folks have come up with a “killer commercial”. IT guys always talk about the “killer app” that just revolutionizes the industry, like Apple’s Visicalc or Lotus’ Spreadsheet. Here’s a challenge that I’ve embraced. I put this on my FACEBOOK profile. That will get the idea in front of a lot of people. Maybe they might even watch. Maybe they will “defriend” me! Even say bad things about me. (Like that’s going to bother me!) That’s a chance I’ll take. I’ll put it on my blog, “Reinke Faces Life”. I’ll plant the flag and let people brand me as a reactionary kook. (Actually, I think “Classical Liberal” might be more accurate. All those Theology and Philosophy courses that MC made the injineers take may have finally sunk in.)

We, as a society, using the guns of gooferment force, may have allowed ourselves to kill the future.

Abortion is the genocide of our society’s future. When you’re in a hole, it’s a good idea to stop digging.

I found this video to communicate the possibilities at a visceral level. The mainstream media has an agenda; I’m not surprised they surpressed it. It might make the sheeple (people who are sheep) think. And as George Orwell pointed out that’s dangerous to the elite.

The suppressed commercial is here http://www.catholicvote.com/; it links to YouTube.

Take 45 seconds and see if it doesn’t move you to think.

(Don’t care WHAT you think. Just that you do THINK. The media doesn’t want you doing any of that dangerous stuff! ROFL!

I signed up for Catholic Vote despite not being a saint. I urge you to do the same.

Here’s their response:

*** begin quote ***

Thank you for signing up to let your friends and family know about our efforts to take back our families, our schools, our courts, and our culture. Together at CatholicVote.org, we are building a movement of people to stand strong to defend life, faith, and family.

*** end quote ***

Sounds pretty good to me.

But I’m just an injineer!

Subject: Manhattan College location

John,

Manhattan College is not located in Bronxville (as was reported in JasperJottings Week 07 – 2009 Feb 15).

Bronxville is a community in Westchester County.

Manhattan is located in The Bronx, one of the five boroughs that comprise New York City.

I am sure you know this, but I felt that a comment on the information that was provided in JasperJottings was in order.

[JR: Absolutely correct. I tried to update the page that had that. It purports to be a wiki, but doesn't allow updates. By putting the link to them there and here http://plumbot.com/Misnomer.html , I was hoping to get someone to look at their reference and fix it. No luck. I guess it's just part of the "DEAD WEB". Up and running, but no one cares. Lights are on, but no one home? Thanks, I should have been more clear what I was saying.]
