Joseph Thomas Kennelly

Joseph Thomas Kennelly Was born on September 18, 1918 to John and Mary Kennelly of Bronx, NY. He attended All Hallows High School followed by Fordham and Manhattan Colleges in NY. His education was interrupted by military service where he proudly served in the U.S. Air Force as a navigator. While stationed overseas he suffered a debilitating leg injury returning him to the U.S. He was hospitalized in Ogden, UT where he met and married Jane Dunn. He moved to the Bay Area in 1949 where he continued his education at Golden Gate School of Management. Upon completion of his degree he was hired by Sherman Clay where he worked for 20 years. He continued his career in business with ownership of his own music stores in California and Washington. In addition to his broad knowledge and interest in business, he enjoyed electronics, home improvements and all sports, especially baseball. Joe will be remembered for his extraordinary faith in God, devotion to family and friends, a generous spirit, and endearing sense of humor. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jane. He is survived by four daughters, seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Memorial Mass will be celebrated May 13, 2009 at 10:30 am at St. Denis Catholic Church, Menlo Park. In lieu of flowers the family has requested memorial donations be made in his name to St. Anthony’s Padua Dining Room, 3500 Middlefield Rd., Menlo Park, CA 94025-3025. Arrangements under the direction of Spangler Mortuary, Menlo Park.
