Subject: Donate A on Fox News

The FOX news piece on the current activity at DONATE A was aired this morning at 5: 45 when many of us were sleeping. However FOX accomodated all of us and put the film on the internet and on our website as well.

While the content is essentially the same, the presentation is slightly different. Since it is not very long, it might be interesting to click on each link below and view some of the changes to the new website, which was donated to us by ISIS Corporation.

POSITRACTION: A student buys an orphanage

University Student Buys Dilapidated African Orphanage

*** begin quote ***

A new vision for an orphanage in Tanzania

A student who visited a run-down African orphanage was so moved by the children’s plight that she raised £30,000 to buy it. Amy Lambert, 24, set about gathering funds after witnessing the horrors at the decrepit Kichijo Orphanage in Tanzania.

She spent eight weeks volunteering there last summer, when she cared for 150 boys and girls – many of whom had lost one or both parents to AIDS and HIV. Miss Lambert found children who were starving, dangerously dehydrated and sleeping in dirty beds.

The undergraduate at Bath Spa university raised more than £30,000 in just seven months. But rather than passing the cash to authorities, she asked them if she could buy the orphanage instead.

Now she plans to complete her degree in Psychology and Health Studies this July before moving out to run the orphanage full time. Miss Lambert of Pewsham, Wiltshire said: “These children are the most beautiful, selfless people I have ever met. I have never felt so helpless.”

Her offer to buy the orphanage was accepted earlier this year and now plans to tear down the crumbling building and replace it with a modern one. She also hopes to add a school room to educate the children and sew crops to teach them about self-sufficiency.

Anyone who would like to donate money towards Amy Lambert’s orphanage should visit http://www.wearecollecting.co.uk/

ENDNOTE: Lotto winnings after 4 years

Unemployed woman gets lotto winnings after 4 years
Apr 17, 3:29 PM (ET)

*** begin quote ***

NEWPORT, Maine (AP) – An unemployed woman who won $1 million in a Maine State Lottery game has collected her winnings – four years after she bought the scratch ticket in a store that’s since burned down. Brenda Ripton told the Central Maine Morning Sentinel that she had received her $700,000 check from the lottery on Thursday.

Ripton had just learned two days earlier that she won the million-dollar prize in the Texas Hold ‘em game. The government took the rest of her winnings for taxes.

Ripton said both she and her husband are out of work. Her winnings came in a second-chance lottery in which non-winners fill out the back of the ticket.

It took this long to declare winners because the state had to sell all of its Texas Hold ‘em tickets first.

[JR: There are TWO points that make me rant. #1 — “the state had to sell all its tickets” — even though though the prize had been one. #2 — FOUR YEARS! Argh!! The gooferment.]

Brothers Joe and Aldo Criscuolo have developed a reputation for their pizza as the owners of three shops in the region. Now, they hope to extend their culinary prowess into ice cream as operators of the first Tasti D-Lite franchises in Connecticut.

*** and ***

Aldo Criscuolo became familiar with Tasti D-Lite as a student at Manhattan College. The brothers said they realized that many people who commute to New York City every day have been exposed to the product and would patronize the suburban shops.
