To one and all: Everything old is new again! I’ve added a new page to my website ( at www.newbreen.com/jasperman.html ), which will eventually publish online my complete comic strip “Jasperman” as it appeared in the pages of the “Jasper Journal” at Manhattan College from 1966 to 1970! The first 3 episodes from October and November of 1966 are already posted. They are accompanied by explanations of obscure and cryptic references, as well as news notes about contemporaneous events both on campus and in the outside world. Just as is done when old movies are re-issued, each episode has been painstakingly digitally restored, either from the original artwork or the best surviving print. There are over 40 episodes altogether. Also included will be a couple of later episodes done for Manhattan College alumni publications, as well as a previously unpublished episode featuring New York Mayor John Lindsay from the spring of 1967. New episodes will be added every week or so, until “The Annotated Adventures of Jasperman” is complete. At that point, I plan to publish the collection in book form. I’ve been planning to do this for many years (over 20 years), but now online publishing and on-demand publishing technology has at last made it feasible. Yours in Jasper, Jerry Breen
