Tash shows moxie in leading Lady Wreckers to success

Becca Tash shows a lot of determination on the lacrosse field. A senior tri-captain for the Staples High girls lacrosse team before graduating in June, she leaves the program as a two-time First Team All-FCIAC selection, a 100-plus career goal scorer and the first player in the program’s history (or at least in this decade) to sign a letter of intent for a Division I school. She was also a First Team All-Stater this year, a Second Team All-Stater and the Block S Team MVP junior year and Second Team All-FCIAC sophomore year.

Next week, she will be leaving for Manhattan College and major in marketing there. She’s definitely going to play lacrosse for Manhattan and knows she’ll have to raise her game to the next level because she’ll face bigger, faster and stronger opponents. “I have to learn a lot,” says Tash. “It’s a different game with players and coaches. I hope to listen a lot and learn new things.”
