1924 – 2009
New London, NH – Raymond J. Walsh of New London, NH died Tuesday, November 3, 2009 at Catholic Medical Center in Manchester, NH after a brief illness. He was born Sept. 25, 1924 on Staten Island, NY. He was graduated from Manhattan College in 1944 and served as a Lt. in the US Navy during WWII. Ray worked for the General Electric Company for 42 years. He was transferred from NY to MA in 1962, becoming an avid Red Sox fan. He retired as the sales manager of the medium steam turbine division in Lynn, MA. He moved to New London, NH in 1997. Ray lived in Topsfield, MA for many years.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Betty Jane Walsh; his children and their families, Jane Wolf of Gloucester, MA, Judy Walsh and her husband, Paul Stenzel of Buffalo, NY, Raymond J. Walsh, Jr. and his wife, Gloria of Sydney, Australia, Nancy Foley and her husband, Timothy of Clive, IA, Amy Walsh and her husband, James Sullivan of Worcester, MA; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren; a brother, Hilary Walsh of Fanwood, NJ and a sister, Regina LeMay of St. Paul, MN.
Friends may call at the Chadwick Funeral Home, 235 Main Street, New London, NH on Sunday, Nov. 8, 2009 from 6-8 P.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, Nov. 9, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at Our Lady of Fatima Parish, New London, NH.
