Advice sought for post-COBRA health care coverage

My COBRA health care coverage is almost up – next month will be the last (18th) month that I can purchase COBRA health insurance.
Can anyone in the group suggest reasoanble alternatives for my health care coverage going forward? For reasons unknown to me, policies such as those available from the IEEE and AARP (I’m 52) are not available to residents of NY (and usually NJ as well.)
The only plan I’ve located so far is a catastrophic plan + prescriptions from GHI for $450/month (single) but I think that may have a deductible of $25000. I’ll have to investigate further.
I would appreciate any and all advice and suggestions on available coverage options for myself in 2010.
