KEVIN HARGADON
HARGADON–Brother Kevin, FSC, Ph.D. Clinical Psychology, died peacefully on Thursday evening, November 19th. Brother Kevin, a De La Salle Christian Brother for 62 years, was a member of the Christian Brothers Community at Manhattan College before going to De La Salle Hall, a skilled nursing facility in Lincroft, NJ in August 2009. Brother Kevin, retired at Manhattan College, had been an Associate Professor of Psychology from 1981-1995 and an adjunct lecturer 1996-2000. Earlier in his professional career, Brother Kevin taught chemistry at La Salle Academy, Providence, RI and the Christian Brother Scholasticate in Troy, NY and Washington, DC. Brother Kevin also served as Executive Director at Lincoln Hall and as President of Christian Brother Academy, Syracuse, NY where he also served as Director of the Brothers’ Community. Viewing will be at Christian Brothers Center, 4415 Post Road, Bronx, NY on Monday, November 23rd 2pm -5pm; 7pm-9pm. There will be a vigil prayer service at 8:30pm. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated in the Chapel of De La Salle and His Brothers at Manhattan College on Tuesday, November 24th at 10am. There will be a viewing at the Chapel 9:15am -9:45am. Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven, Valhalla, NY. Predeceased by his parents, Mary (Houlihan) and Michael Hargadon, and a sister, Barbara Kepesky, Brother Kevin Hargadon is survived by his two devoted sisters, Margaret Conway of Rutherford, NJ and Eileen Jones of Scarsdale, NY and by many loving nieces and nephews.
