POSITRACTION: 30 Years of HATE?

[JR: I was listening to ESPN as Georgetown and Syracuse played basketball. It quoted the Syracuse student paper reporting the upcoming game as "30 Years Of Hate". That bugged me. It stuck in my craw for a while. Here are two once fine Jesuit institutions and the students talk about "hate". How regrettable! You'd never see the Army Navy game described as "hate" by midshipmen or cadets. I know a lot of good natured ribbing and wagering goes on among the alums at all levels of the military. In and out. But they never forget they are on the "same team". How can two supposedly Catholic institutions and their student bodies forget they are essentially on the "same team"? Now while I always root for the Jasper to beat the pants off Fordham, I would never describe the relationship as "hate". After all Fordham was nice enough to loan Manhattan a President when we need one. I know my fellow alums will have no trouble using the right words to describe a friendly rivalry.]
