Hoops Squads Enter MAAC Tournament

The Manhattan College men’s and women’s basketball teams begin their quest for a MAAC title in Albany, N.Y., on Friday, March 5, when the ninth-seeded Jaspers battle No. 8 Loyola in a 7:30 p.m. first round match-up. The Lady Jaspers, seeded fourth, will take on No. 5 Niagara in a 3:30 p.m. quarterfinal on Friday, March 5. For more MAAC Tournament news, including ticket information, click Here. New York City St. Patrick’s Day Parade

All alumni, family and friends are invited to march with Manhattan College and the oldest Catholic alumni society on St. Patrick’s Day, Wednesday, March 17. This year’s parade honors grand marshal Raymond Kelly ’63. Please assemble by 11:30 a.m. at West 45th Street, between Fifth and Sixth Avenues. Marchers are required to purchase a sash, available at the line of march, for $5 from the Gaelic Society. Join us for a special breakfast reception at Club Quarters Hotel (40 West 45th Street) from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. at a cost of $20 per person or $10 for students. Pipes & Drums To March in the Naples, Fla. St. Patrick’s Day Parade

The Manhattan College Pipes & Drums, an award-winning college pipe band, will march in the 32nd annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Naples, Fla., on Saturday, March 13. The event was made possible due in large part to the support and efforts of Jim Connors ’57, who was instrumental in planning the parade festivities and also helped to organize lodging and financial support for the group. Staten Island Alumni Communion Breakfast

The Manhattan College Alumni Society will host a Communion breakfast on Sunday, March 21 at Blessed Sacrament Church on Staten Island, N.Y. The Mass will be celebrated by Monsignor Peter Finn ’60, and a breakfast will follow at the Kings Arm Diner (500 Forest Ave.) for $15 per person. For more information and to register, click Here

New York City Alumni Club Reception

Ann Marie Flynn ’81, Ph.D., chair of the chemical engineering department, will join alumni at the spring networking reception of the New York City Club on Thursday, March 25 from 6:00-9:00 p.m. The event will take place at Mutual of America (320 Park Ave.) and is hosted by Tom Moran ’74, chairman and CEO. Reunion Weekend 2010 will be held June 4-6. Manhattan College welcomes home our alumni who return to campus to celebrate the 141st Alumni Reunion Weekend. Winter Ski & Snowboard Weekend

Manhattan College alumni and friends are invited to enjoy a fun winter weekend at Sunday River, M.E. from March 26-28, 2010. Jasper Open Golf Tournament

Please join us for our 22nd annual Jasper Open, which will be held on Monday, May 3, 2010 at Knollwood Country Club in Elmsford, N.Y. Join us for golf, brunch, cocktails and a wonderful reception. Athletic Hall of Fame Nominations

Did you know that anyone can nominate a Manhattan athlete for our Athletic Hall of Fame? Each year, we seek to induct a broad representation of qualified candidates. We recommend detailed attention when collecting and presenting biographical information to achieve the desired results in this competitive process. Nominations are due by Friday, June 4, 2010. The 2010 induction ceremony will take place on Saturday, Nov. 6.
