[JR: Colonscopy done. Didn't need the drugs. One polyp removed. All done; all clear. Good for another half decade. A disgusting procedure that can save your life. OK, boys and girls, who's going be the first to say it can't happen to me? FYI: It hurt a lot less than my pinched never. And, I'm told it's a lot less than a kidney stone or birthing a baby. And, you can wimp out and take the drugs to sleep thru it. What's your excuse? Besides I can't afford to lose any readers!]

JNEWS: Ferraro, Joseph (MC1988) runs for PVSB on 5/19

Ferraro ready for Putnam Valley

My name is Joe Ferraro and I am pleased to announce my candidacy for the Putnam Valley School Board election. I’d like to tell you a little about myself and my perspective of what I would bring to the table if elected. I was raised in the Bronx and moved to Yorktown and attended Lakeland schools. I became the first in my family to attend college — Manhattan College in Riverdale. I earned my masters degree in Non-Profit Management from New School University. I currently run my own consulting firm — PULSE-MDC — helping nonprofit organizations improve their fundraising programs.

I see first-hand, through my two daughters who attend Putnam Valley Elementary School, the impact their teachers have had in their lives. And while they are not fans of homework, they love learning, love their teachers and love their school. I want to be sure that today’s generation of students are afforded the opportunity to continue to receive an education that moves progressively forward with a program dedicated to excellence. If elected to the school board, I will be a dedicated servant to our district. I will be a strong advocate for our community and our kids. While I know times are difficult, I believe providing an education of excellence serves as a promise to future generations. And I will advocate and advance responsible funding choices as part of keeping that promise. More information about my platform and philosophy can be found at www.josephaferraro.com.

Ferraro, Joseph (MC1988)

[JR: All Putnam Valley Jasper should get out and vote for Joe. He's a good guy from my dealings in the past with him. And, after all how much more screwed up can education get? Maybe a Jasper might be able to cut the budget. "Go through it line by line" is something all politicians promise, but few do. Good luck, Joe. Done all I can for your candidacy.]
