*** and ***

My name is Gina Callender and I have been binding books and making soap since 2000. I started by taking a bookbinding class from an SCA East Kingdom University Event taught by Countess Aidan ni Leir. From there, I read books and did research on-line. I was also interested in how people actually made soap and I did research on that as well.

One thing lead to another and I found myself selling my wares at the Stockwood Renaissance Faire in 2001. Later in the year, I sold my wares at the Connecticut Renaissance Faire (formally Olde World Renaissance Faire). I also work at the New York Renaissance Faire in Tuxedo, NY at the Henna Booth.

   * Some of my interests include: SCA

   * The Silver Horde, my SCA persona belongs to this household

   * VDK, my SCA persona also belongs to this household, since I became an apprentice to Mistress Michel Almond de Champagne.

   * Chinese culture & calligraphy

   * Calligraphy & Illumination

   * Japanese Stab Bookbinding

   * Viking Wire knitting

   * Cross Stitching

   * Crocheting

   * Glass Lamp work beads

   * And many more things that I don’t have time for
