Limbaugh Gets Mega Millions on Condo Sale
by JOSH BARBANEL

*** begin quote ***

A year after railing about the high tax burden on wealthy New Yorkers, Rush Limbaugh, the conservative radio talk-show host, is severing one more tie with New York, selling his lushly decorated Fifth Avenue penthouse to an undisclosed buyer.

*** end quote ***

So what will New York tax now? Do they think it’s a fluke that, when they raise the taxes on “millionaires”, those same millionaires scram?

We’ve seen study after study demonstrating that wealthy people have option that poor people don’t.

Insanity is defined as doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. Yet, we keep reelecting the same tired fraudsters who promise everything and deliver nothing. Nothing but more pain and sorrow.

Subject: Obituary – Sister Dorothy Fowler, CSJ (MC 1955)

From “The Long Island Catholic” July 28th, 2010 edition:

Brentwood — Sister Dorothy Fowler, 87, formerly known as Sister St. Dorothy, died July 12. She was in the 66th year of her religious life as a Sister of St. Joseph, Brentwood.

She entered the congregation in 1944 and earned a B.A. in Italian from Manhattan College (1955), an M.S. in religious education from Fordham University (1974), and an M.A. in sociology from Catholic University (1965).

With the exception of her elementary teaching experience in St. Benedict Joseph Labre, Richmond Hill (1946-61), the main of her ministerial life was spent in the Diocese of Rockville Centre. From 1961-64 she taught history at Sacred Heart Academy in Hempstead, followed by four years in Brentwood College here teaching social science.

For five years she served as principal of Our Lady of Grace Religious Education Center and later became director of religious education in five parishes: St. Sylvester’s, Medford; Good Shepherd, Holbrook; St. Margaret of Scotland, Selden; St. John of God, Central Islip; and St. John Nepomucene, Bohemia. She taught numerous adult education courses helping people to deepen their faith following Vatican II. Following her retirement from parish work, she embraced a new ministry, preparing women for their GEDs in the Learning Connection in Brentwood.

JEMAIL: McEneney Edward J. (MC1959) remembers Doyle, James M. “Big Jim” [MC1957 RIP]

John,

Jim “Big Jim” Doyle graduated with me from Cardinal Hayes in 1953. I met him at our Hayes 50th anniversary celebration in 2003.

He was an offensive end for the football team and a good one. No I was not on the football team I played the trumpet in the CH marching band. We were 125 strong. As a member of the band I attended every football game (we were also the cheering section) especially at away games. Jim was originally from Visitation Parish, at Hayes as a junior he was class president, member of the Knights of the Blessed Sacrament for 3 years, Varsity football for three years, varsity track 2 years. He played baseball for 2 years. He liked fishing and lunch best in 1953. He was a serious minded young man then and obviously kept the faith the rest of his life. Jim is a great ‘witness’ to the rest of us.

He graduated from Manhattan College in 1957.

[JR: Ed, sorry for our loss. Sounds like a great guy to have known. I'm always impressed by the long marriages that Jaspers seem to rack up. Must have something to do with the water on the campus?]
