JEMAIL: Dans, Peter E. (MC1957) has a website for his book

Hi John:

Check out my website at www.physicianatthemovies.com. A year or two ago you encouraged me to set one up, but what seemed easy to you was not easy for me, so I procrastinated. Then this summer, the Authors Guild made me an offer I couldn’t refuse. Setting it up was free through Sitebuilders with a monthly maintenance charge of $6. The Domain registration cost $18. That was it.

I hope you like it.

Best regards,
Peter

Dans, Peter E. (MC1957)

[JR: Better late than never. And, that's a pretty fair price. I pay about 10 for domains as part of my package. Sometimes you can get a deal. But, I've seen the con artist try to charge 100s, plus site hosting fees, plus "design services", and and and. That's why I tell people the hosting company I use. http://www.1and1.com/?k_id=9113251 Not for the "big bucks" referral, (disclaimer I probably get a quarter for each sign up), but so that folks don't get ripped off. Congrats; now if it generates sales. Mine never did, but it was a labor of love. My love story. The sad part is I could have written mine when I was in the Prep. Maybe if I had, I could be a Patterson. More likely a starving artist. Site looks great. Now you are immortal. Thanks to the Internet Archive. Well done.]

Medal of Honor hero dies at age 90

BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Vernon Baker, a black U.S. soldier who belatedly received the Medal of Honor for his World War II battlefield valor after historians concluded he’d been wrongly denied the military’s top award because of his race, died at his home near St. Maries, Idaho. He was 90.

[JR: The lesson to "We, The People" is that we can not afford, as a society, to NOT allow everyone to make their contribution to the commonweal. (Little C; not capital C!) When we discriminate based on race, sex, age, religion, eye color, then we subtract from the total possibilities. That's why when other countries keep women tied down, it's like spotting us 50% of their human resource in the global marketplace. So why should we not recognize it? Does it take a sharp stick in the eye to see it? Let everyone be free, and hang on for the ride, because we are going places fast. imho! I'm sure my fellow alums know this, but for me it's a long slow journey to enlightenment. Spread the word, we need all the hep we can get.]

Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) — The head of the Archdiocese of St. Louis says it is “clear and unambiguous” that Catholics who want to remain in good standing with the Church can’t support abortion. Archbishop Robert J. Carlson also says those who support legalized abortion should voluntarily opt out of receiving community.

[JR: Cookbooks are 20$ for a good cause. And, I'm sure, if you try a recipe or two, it won't kill you. Even if it's awful, then you'll understand a little bit of what those afflicted are going through. It's probably good for you anyway. And, if you don't like, and you're like this fat old white guy injineer, you could lose a few pounds. Seriously, we need to support our fellow Jasper and her daughter.]
