No doubt, the passing down of stories and exploits, from one class to the next. Athletes and personalities I aspired to emulate, for their accomplishments not necessarily their character, were Rich Smith, Paul Timony, Mike Manna, Ricky and Jim Handshuch, Sean Breslin, Ed Mathers, Chris Likes, Ken Koerner, Ray Roncin, Pierre Souchet, Glen Livingston; all teammates at South. Others included John Regan of Point Pleasant Beach HS, Guy Emmons of Marlboro, Steve Thompson of Brick, Sal Vega of West New York, Buck Logan of Bernardsville, Chris Person of Plainfield, Dick Caton of Woodbury, Carlton Young of Central HS in Phila, PA, Aubrey McKithen and his quartet from Trenton Central, a Mile Relay team from Asbury Park and the storied teams of Roselle Catholic, Essex Catholic and Boys & Girls HS of New York. And from the college ranks; ‘Pre’, Rudy Chappa, Jeff Nelson and Alberto Salazar at Oregon, Marty Liquori, Eamonn Coughlan, Mark Belger and Don Paige at Villanova, Joe Savage, Mike Keogh, Sam Summerville, Bill Krohn, Marty Ludwikowski, Pat Peterson and Luis Ostolozaga at Manhattan College.

With two seconds to go and his team down by two points, Manhattan College guard Michael Alvarado let fly a shot toward the basket, 65 feet away. It banked off the backboard, went in – and gave the Jaspers a one-point win at Marist College, sparking a wild on-court celebration and thrusting Alvarado and his team into a lasting digital spotlight.

QUADRANGLE: Website Editor’s Letter

Website Editor’s Letter
Posted: 23rd February 2011

As the website editor for the Quadrangle, I would like to take this time to apologize for the unsteady website “dilemmas” we are constantly facing. At the end of the last semester, I was informed that we would get a new website, so we transferred the semester’s beginning quad articles to www.mcquad.webs.com. Unfortunately, we never went beyond the “beta stage” since the communications department in Manhattan College offered us the privilege of having the quad articles placed on the website since they said they had enough room there.

Unfortunately, we will only be able to begin uploading at www.manhattan.edu by the end of march , fingers-crossed, so until then, we will be uploading the articles on www.mcquad.com. While we may not be able to upload pictures, videos, or audio tracks with the articles for some time, we will finally be able to take our “last journey to get a new website.”

Thank you for your constant patience,
Lesley G John
Website Editor, Quadrangle
