Cornel Lupu to support Keane clients with navigating unclaimed

Jun. 7, 2011 (Business Wire) — Keane, the only comprehensive provider of unclaimed property consulting, annual compliance reporting, and communication solutions, announced today that Cornel Lupu, has joined its National Consulting and Advisory Services team as a Manager. In this role, Lupu will help clients navigate complex unclaimed property audits. He will be based in New York City at Keane’s corporate headquarters.
Lupu has 20 years of diverse and extensive experience in the insurance industry. His areas of specialty include unclaimed property audits, internal audit, Sarbanes Oxley Section 404 and 302 compliance, and financial reporting. He will offer Keane clients unique insights into the target areas and common challenges that companies face in unclaimed property audits.

As the former director of examinations for Verus Financial, LLC, Lupu facilitated the development of an extensive audit program that has been approved by numerous State Treasury Departments and is still being utilized in conjunction with numerous active life insurance unclaimed property audits. He has first-hand experience assessing unclaimed property compliance practices at major life insurance companies, has served as a global compliance officer for a major insurer, and has implemented and managed global business ethics and compliance reporting systems.
