June 2011, The Brothers of the Christian Schools, District of Eastern North America Living Lasallian newsletter, “Featured Ministry: Manhattan College”
Between 1853 and 1863, the school changed rapidly, adding college-level courses in 1859 and first using the name Manhattan College in 1861. (Link)

June 1, 2011, The Riverdale Press, “Jaspers Win MAAC Championship”
The Manhattan College men’s baseball team won the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference title on Saturday in Trenton, N.J., earning Riverdale’s Jaspers its first appearance in the NCAA tournament in the past 54 years. (Link)

Manhattan College was recently named on the President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll, an annual, national list launched in 2006 that recognizes institutions’ commitment to and achievement in helping local communities and the nation as a whole. (Link)

Manhattan College is revamping its Holocaust Center to include the further study of other genocides, as well as interfaith activities that would include Islam alongside Judaism and Christianity — the two religions that until now have been mostly alone at the core of Holocaust interfaith issues. Manhattan College student, Brittany Ellis, class of 2011 and a resident of West Islip, N.Y., has been accepted into Rostro De Cristo, a volunteer and retreat program whose mission is “to provide spiritual and educational opportunities for young people from the United States to live out the Gospel of Jesus Christ together with the people of Ecuador.” (Link)
