PRAYERSREQUESTED: Colon, Philip J. (MC1962) prays for the Ronan family

2014-Dec-19

Buzz Ronan ’59 informed Mike McEneney his wife, Roberta, a friend to several of us, and a very special Lady was called home at 5:00 PM, today, Thursday, 12/18/14. This good woman has been in our prayers as she struggled with the West Nile Virus. Roberta was part of our Prayer Group as she so willingly shared many of our prayer requests with her own Prayer Group. A prayerful Lady, a good wife and mother who will be missed by many. Please keep Roberta, Buzz (Martin) and their Family in your prayers. As God has called her home, we pray that her Family and friends find comfort in the sure knowledge that Roberta is at peace in God’s Eternal Embrace. Arrangements are not complete at this time. Thank you. God Bless.

PRAYERSREQUESTED: Colon, Philip J. (MC1962) prays for the Burke family

2014-Dec-17

Good Afternoon All,

I am saddened to share with you the passing of Ann Burke’s Mom. Mrs. Burke was called home this morning. She has been in our prayers these past few weeks and we prayed for the best. Ann shared a couple of thoughts. First, ” Thank you all for your prayers and kind thoughts.” Second, ” Prayer works,” Mrs. Burke was spared the ordeal of long suffering. Third, ” She was with them for 88 1/2 years,” and that was special. Ann asks that we keep up the prayers, especially for her Dad. We pray that Ann, her Dad and their Family find peace in the sure knowledge that their loved one is at peace in God’s Eternal Embrace in the Kingdom Of Heaven. Thank you. God Bless.

PRAYERSREQUESTED: Colon, Philip J. (MC1962) prays for a co-worker of mine

2014-Dec-08

Good Afternoon All,

John Reinke asks for our prayers for a Co-Worker who is facing a Final Test Challenge. She needs a good grade on her last test, this Tuesday, in order to earn her Masters Degree. Compared to some of the requests we put up, this one may not seem too critical but as John says, ” To her it is a big hurdle. She needs to hit it out of the park.” John calls upon: St. Thomas Aquinas, Patron Saint of Students, Our Lady Of Good Studies, Sacred Heart of Jesus Seat of Divine Wisdom Enlighten us. That is some pretty good company for us to add our voices to. We pray for a clear mind, confidence in her responses, certainty in what she has accomplished and how she has prepared and a prayer of thanks, at the end, for her success. Please add our own students to your prayers for their success as well.Thank you. God Bless.

PS: John tells us that in his day he made frequent reference to St. Thomas Aquinas. Sound familiar?

PRAYERSREQUESTED: Colon, Philip J. (MC1962) The Prayers are Working – Thank you!

2014-Dec-07

Good Afternoon All,

Ann Burke shares an update and her thanks for all your prayers.

Ann’s Mom has been moved out of the criitical care unit and into an “intermediate” room at the hospital where they continue to treat her with antibiotics,. She will stay there somewhere between 2-4 days and will then be moved to a nursing home for rehabilitation for another 2-3 weeks. The doctor has told us that while there are no guarantees, he expects her to recover. As Ann says, ” Amazing for an 88 year old woman who was brought in 5 days earlier with congestive heart failure. The power of prayer once again. Thank you so very much. You have all made my Christmas very bright.”

Ann also tells us that there have been some complications as of late last night that threaten her Mom’s recovery. She pulled her feeding tube out and the MDs are having difficulty re-inserting it and may need to do a more invasive procedure. Mrs. Burke’s fragile state and lack of sustenance for a number of Hours is a major concern. As Ann has just said, ” This is going to be a rough road. Thank you to the prayer group for sharing it with me.”

Please keep the volume up for Ann’s Mom, Ann and their Family. Thank you. God Bless.

PRAYERSREQUESTED: Colon, Philip J. (MC1962) prays for Liz

2014-Dec-07

Good Afternoon All,

It is with a heavy heart that I share the following with you. Bob and Noreen Mattis have let me know that their Friend Liz was called home late Friday evening. Noreen was with Liz and said Liz passed away peacefully. This good woman now rests in God’s Eternal Embrace in the Kingdom of heaven. We, though saddened, are thankful that, as Liz wanted, her passing was peaceful. Please keep Liz, her family and loved ones in your prayers as they cope with their loss. This is a difficult time for all, we pray that they find peace in the sure knowledge that Liz is safe in God’s Embrace. Thank you. God Bless.
