Dear Fellow Jasper Alumni,

I am reaching out to you to add you to my collection of Jasper on Facebook. Recently, a fellow Classmate of your year, Jack Cahill, joined at my urging. And, he was the first in your Class Year of 1964 that I had. I couldn’t suggest any peers to him.

Chagrined, I have set out to remedy that.

By way of explanation, I’m just a harmless old alum that runs an alumni ezine — a weekly email about Jasper findings — http://www.jasperjottings.com — It is a imho interesting weekly summary of alumni and (to a lesser extent) student news.

I do Jasper Jottings to connect Jaspers globally. I’ve been trying to drag the “real” MC Alumni organization into this decade. Any Jasper Jottings exists, it’s free, and is an excellent source to identify and connect with specific alumni. For example, I have about 1500 Jaspers reading it every week.

This is just my attempt to “help” you and Jack connect. :-) You might not even know you needed help. :-) It, Jasper Jottings, might help you possibly identify other alumni that you might want to connect with.

So as most of you know, my name is Paul and I’m just a 22 year old Graduate of Manhattan College.  What some of you may not know is that for the next two years I will be volunteering to teach with the Christian Brothers in schools in poor neighborhoods.  The program offers many phenomenal opportunities, such as being able to live in a prayerful community with experienced teachers, travel the country, teach children who want to learn, and prepare for a Masters Degree.

I have been extremely fortunate throughout my life to be around loving and caring people, both friends and family, and have been given many opportunities that others were not afforded.  It is because of these people that I know the Lasallian Volunteer program is the exactly what I should be doing with my life.

I will be in San Francisco, living at Cathedral Hill and teaching in the Tenderloin District at De Marillac Academy (www.demarillac.org).

Being away from home may be difficult, but I hope that as you read this blog you stay in touch with me.  Thank you.
