Larissa Sophia, 31, died suddenly on Sunday June 26, 2016.
Although an official determination of death is yet to be determined, Larissa struggled with drug addiction for many years and preliminary reports indicate a likely drug related overdose.
Larissa was born August 2, 1984, in Englewood, New Jersey and lived most of her life in Alpine, New Jersey. She also resided in Germany for 2 years and for a short period in Spain. Larissa graduated from Manhattan College in Bronx, New York and while employed, worked at Colex Imaging with her father Werner, brother Peter, and sister Taylor.
She is survived by her mother and father, Helen and Werner Waden; beloved brothers Alexander, Peter, and Marc; beloved sisters Tania and Taylor.
Larissa was a sensitive soul who loved animals, deeply cared for people, and was especially passionate about helping others less fortunate than her. Larissa was particularly focused on Doctors Without Borders and contributed to their efforts frequently. Doctors Without Borders is an international humanitarian and Nobel Peace Prize laureate, best known for its projects in war-torn regions and developing countries facing endemic diseases.
