Robert “Bobby” A. McNamee, 93, of Estero, Fl, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on August 21, 2016 in Port Charlotte, Fl.

Bobby was born in Yonkers, NY to Molly Fedo and Charles McNamee on April 12, 1923. A Graduate of Sacred Heart High School, Bobby also attended Manhattan College. He married Mabel Flower on November 24, 1949 at Sacred Heart Parish Yonkers, NY. He worked as a Salesman for Cooney Brothers Construction and retired from Area Paving Corp. Bobby served in WW II from 1943-1945 in the 752nd Engineer Supply Unit of the United States Army in the South Pacific. He was awarded the Asiatic Pacific Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, World War II Victory Medal and the Philippines Liberation Ribbon. He was a Coach at Sacred Heart High School and always had a love for sports, competition, and a good card game.

Bobby will be remembered as a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. Predeceased by his daughter, Marcia Lally, Bobby is survived by his wife of 67 years, Mabel F. McNamee, his children Robert McNamee, Mark McNamee (Elizabeth Farrell McNamee), and son-in-law James Lally, grandchildren Christopher, Amy, Elizabeth, Ryan Caroline, Gregg and Julianne, and his great-grandchildren Michael Tessa, and Raegan. We love you Bobby!

A Memorial Mass will be offered on Friday, September 9, 2016 at 10:30am at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 4700 Long Beach Blvd., Brant Beach, NJ 08008. Inurnment of cremated remains will follow at St. Mary’s Parish Cemetery, Bayview Ave., Manahawkin. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the above address to the St. Francis Aquatic Center in memory of Bobby McNamee. Arrangements are under the direction of Bugbee-Riggs Funeral Home, 12th St., Ship Bottom.
