ROXBURY TWP. — An organized group which says it strongly supports the educational system in the grades K-12 school district has backed three candidates, including two incumbents, for the Nov. 8 school board race.

Alexander and his wife Anne are 24 year Roxbury residents. Their three daughters are products of the Roxbury school system.

Alexander is a product director for Asurion and holds a masters in finance along with a bachelor’s degree in computer information systems and a minor in accounting. He is a Manhattan College Athletic Hall of Fame inductee and U.S. Olympic Trials participant. He served as religious education board member, parish council finance liaison and religious education teacher at St. Elizabeth.

He is on the Personnel and Facilities committees and is the Chair of the Community Relations and Shared Services Committee, where he spearheaded the establishment of the Roxbury Distinguished Alumni Award. Additional focus areas have been ongoing communications through newsletters and frequent press releases, as well as gaining strong community involvement during the establishment of the district’s five year strategic plan. The district also gains input into areas such as the school calendar through a committee of parents, community members and multi-denominational clergy to meet the need of township residents.

“I’m passionate about Roxbury and developing our children to the best of their ability. I’m proud of our educational and extra-curricular achievements as well as our infrastructure advancements and recognized fiscal accountability.”
