Roth, 68, was born and raised in Lower Manhattan, moving to Mahwah 23 years ago. He graduated from Manhattan College with a bachelor’s degree in business administration.

Roth’s foray in community service began 19 years ago, serving for five years on the Board of Education, followed by a two-year appointment to the Planning Board. In 2004, he was elected to the Township Council, serving twice as its vice president and four as president.

He presently serves on the Community Cable TV Committee, and is member of the Senior Center’s Advisory Board and the Board of Directors of the Bergen Highlands Rotary Club. On the council. he is liaison to the Mahwah Regional Chamber of Commerce.

Outside of his community service, Roth had a 40-year career in marketing/communications. He retired as an executive vice president at Lowe Worldwide.

He lives with his wife of 27 years, Andrea. They have two children, Jeffrey and Brian.
