ADMINISTRIVIA: Remember Stella D’Oro? by O’Hagan, Betsy [MC1987]

This is a public service announcement – especially to all Riverdalians. Remember how growing up when Stella D’Oro was making breakfast treats the entire neighborhood smelled like almond? Then they were sold to Nabisco and the smell was gone and the cookie was never really the same. Now they’ve been sold again and the result is CRAP. I bought Swiss Fudge Cookies to bring somewhere today and when they were opened they were dry, chalky and basically horrible. IS NOTHING SACRED???? :(

[JR: While not by a Jasper, I read this and remembered. Thought my fellow Jaspers would get a laff out of it. I remember the Mounties that used to hand with “us” would swear that the scent add to their waistline and their cyclic depression. Laugh! I think I can still remember the scent of those cookies. Argh! Now I just added to my circumference. Sorry for the aside, but I connect Stella D’Oro with Alma Mater.]
