RE: Happy Independence Day from a Jasper Veteran
Dear Manhattan College Alumni,
Happy Independence Day! My name is Jesse Tossetti and I am a U.S. Navy veteran and recent Manhattan College alumnus. In addition, I am completing my master’s degree at Manhattan and will graduate in December 2017.
My military service began in 1994, when I became a Hospital Corpsman, providing medical care to Sailors and Marines. I was promoted in 2008 to the rank of Chief Petty and served as the Senior Enlisted Leader for 7th Marine Regiment and the Branch Health Clinic Lakehurst and Colts Neck, NJ. The valuable experiences I have had working with and serving fellow service members led me to pursue a career in which I can continue to help others.
I was also inspired during my time at Manhattan College to strive towards the creation of a supportive community for veteran students, an interest that resulted in my serving as President of the Student Veterans Organization, formerly known as VALOR Club, in 2015. Now I wish to continue this work by bridging the gap between alumni and student veterans.
As I transition from student to alumnus, I would like to help Manhattan College organize an alumni veterans group. I feel this initiative would truly benefit current student veterans by providing them with a way to connect to those who came before them. It would also provide alumni an opportunity to network with one another across class years, careers, and service agencies, with the goal of supporting one another after graduation.
I have been in touch with the Office of Aumni Relations to help organize this veteran alumni group. If you are a veteran or in some way connected to the armed forces, I hope you will take a minute or to two to click here to complete this survey.
Thank you for your time and I wish you a happy Independence Day!
