It’s sold out, and for the kids attending this week’s upcoming Ocean Breeze Cross Country clinic, it sure looks worth it.
The week-long clinic, held in the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex, will provide kids with the opportunity to learn about different aspects as to how to achieve success over the hilly courses of Clove Lakes, Van Cortland, and hopefully Bowdoin Parks in the fall season. Last year’s inaugural edition drew about 100 young athletes and this year’s camp has quickly filled to 150.
Led by Ocean Breeze Park Administrator and former Manhattan College standout Lauren Primerano, the camp coaches include Vincent Stasi, Stephen McLean, and Peter Liotta.

Current Manhattan College coach Kerri Gallagher has also competed at the highest levels of cross country and the middle distances, as she is currently the seventh-ranked American Miler All-Time. In 2015 Gallagher, who was coached by Track icon Matt Centrowitz, qualified for the World Outdoor Track Championships, representing team USA in the 1500 meters.
