James A. Moran III, P.E.

Mr. Moran is a Principal and Senior Structural Engineer at Pinkham & Greer. His engineering experience includes project management, structural analysis and design, and construction administration on a wide range of industrial, commercial, institutional, and power-generation projects. While at Pinkham & Greer, Mr. Moran has been involved in management and design for light and heavy industrial facilities and paper mills, including Scott Paper, International Paper, S.D. Warren, Bath Iron Works, and United Parcel Service. Commercial projects have included supermarkets and retail stores, hotel and restaurant facilities, multi-family condominiums and single family housing, theater renovations, and municipal and public office buildings. Institutional projects have included new school buildings, school repair and renovation projects, nursing home facilities, and public safety buildings.

Prior to Pinkham & Greer, Mr. Moran was a Project Engineer/Senior Structural Engineer for several large consulting engineering firms specializing in heavy industrial and power-generation projects. He worked on a wide variety of projects, including hydro-power facilities, office buildings, transformer repair facilities, automobile manufacturing plants, table-salt processing facilities, paper mills, retail facilities, and warehouse facilities.

Mr. Moran also spent two years as a field engineer on the construction of a large foundation underpinning project. His responsibilities included reviewing engineering drawings for constructability, inspecting construction activities, and training, examining, and certifying other inspection personnel.

Mr. Moran is an active member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, the American Institute of Steel Construction, and the Structural Engineering Association of Maine.
