KINGSTON, N.Y. >> Political newcomer Pamela Krimsky will take on incumbent Herbert Litts in a race for the Ulster County Legislature’s District 9 seat.
District 9 comprises portions of the towns of Lloyd and Plattekill.
Krimsky, 65, of Highland, is a self-employed artist, educator and activist. Litts, 61, is a civil engineer with GPI Inc. and a farmer.
A two-term incumbent, Litts says his top priority if re-elected will be fiscal responsibility.
Prior to being elected to the Legislature, Litts served in a variety of positions in the town of Lloyd, including on the Town Board, the Planning Board and the Zoning Board of Appeals.
He holds a bachelor’s degree from Manhattan College.
A registered Republican, Litts will hold the GOP, Independence, Conservative and 21st Century party lines on the Nov. 7 ballot.
