Remigino To Enter USA Track And Field Hall Of Fame Nov. 2

Lindy Remigino, who won two gold medals at the Helsinki Olympics in 1952, in the 100 meters and 4×100 relay, will be inducted into the USA Track and Field Hall of Fame on Nov. 2 at the Black Tie and Sneakers Gala at the New York Armory.
Remigino, 86, was a high school champion at Hartford Public and an IC4A champion at Manhattan College. As a junior at Manhattan, he went to Helsinki in 1952 and beat Jamaica’s Herb McKenley in the 100-meter final by 0.01 of a second, winning the Olympic gold medal in 10.79. He ran the third leg on the winning U.S. 4×100 team.
