Brother Thomas J. Scanlan, FSC (1945-2018)
Brother Thomas J. Scanlan, FSC, president emeritus of Manhattan College, passed away on Sunday, February 4, at the age of 72. The 18th president of Manhattan College, serving from 1987 to 2009, Br. Thomas helped navigate the College through a difficult financial period in the 1980s to become the institution it is today.
De La Salle Dinner Toasts Eileen Murray ’80, Hon. D.Sc. ’15
Led by De La Salle Dinner chair Moira Kilcoyne ’83 and Board of Trustees chair Kenneth Rathgeber ’70, Manhattan College’s annual fundraising event raised more than $1.1 million toward high priority programs such as student scholarships, financial aid and programming. The guest of honor was Eileen Murray ’80, Hon. D.Sc. ’15, the co-CEO of Bridgewater Associates.
Exhibit Brings Stories of Everyday Life in Bethlehem
The Museum of the Palestinian People’s traveling exhibition, Bethlehem Beyond the Wall, will be on view at Manhattan College until Tuesday, Feb. 27. The exhibit offers visitors a rare glimpse of Bethlehem from the perspective of the city’s residents.

Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi recently said that he wants fully unmanned taxis serving paying customers by mid-2019. But what happens when these driverless cars are on the road? Heidi Furey, Ph.D., an assistant professor of philosophy at Manhattan College, is working to answer that question.

This Season’s Final Home Basketball Games
On Sunday, Feb. 25, Draddy Gymnasium will host the last home basketball games of the season. Prior to each game, our senior student-athletes will be honored.
