When speaking to Gabrielle Puglia’s peers, friends, and relatives, the word “passion” comes up over and over again. Born and bred in Brooklyn, Puglia’s mission in life is to help those in her community that are in need.

“I would describe myself as an empathetic, kind, modern-day hippie just trying to leave the world better than I found it,” she explains.

One of her passions is Wreaths Across America, an organization that honors fallen American soldiers on national Wreaths Across America Day.

The organization visits Cypress Hills National Cemetery and performs a Ceremony of Remembrance followed by the laying of Remembrance Wreaths.

“Gabrielle Puglia deserves the honor of being a Woman of Distinction because she embodies all of the qualities which exemplify the award,” says her friend, Heather Cuccio.

Cuccio continues, “She reminds and educates our community on how they can honor those soldiers whom presently serve and those whom have passed with the recognition they so rightfully deserve.”

*** and ***

She graduated from Manhattan College with a Bachelor of Arts with honors, majoring in communications with a minor in Spanish. She is currently working towards an Masters of Science in speech-language pathology from Long Island University Brooklyn.

Good Morning All,

A couple of days ago, I shared some information regarding Fellow Jasper Gabrielle Puglia ’10 BA being considered for A Woman Of Distinction Award. In speaking with Gabrielle I realize that last week she was the recipient of the Brooklyn Woman Of Distinction Award for her dedication, commitment and accomplishments in support of our Veterans, in particular, her Hero’s Benefit which she established and her Wreaths Accross America efforts. Gabrielle is truely a Woman Of Distinction who quietly goes about helping our Veterans. I will share, in the near future, information as to Her Hero’s Benefit efforts.

Gabrielle in my mind is a Hero, she makes Manhattan College proud. She was Honored with her Woman Of Distinction Award by the Community News Group (CNG) who run publications such as The Brooklyn Daily, The Brooklyn Courier, and the Mill Basin Courier. She somehow finds time to work at a Wall Street Firm, study for her Master’ Degree with a strenuous curriculum, manage her household and dedicate herself to her praying for, honoring the Fallen and helping Veterans. A very busy Woman Of Distinction and Service. Thank you Gabrielle. We will keep you in our prayers. Thank you all. God Bless.
