John R. Iurato
1933 – 2018 

Tarrytown – John R. Iurato, Jr., “Junie”, of Tarrytown and Croton, New York and Danby, Vermont, passed away peacefully on October 9, 2018 at the age of 85.

He was born on September 15, 1933 to John and Genevieve Iurato. He was a graduate of Manhattan College and NYU and was a lifelong educator serving as a teacher and administrator in New York and Vermont. He was also a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy.

Junie touched everyone he knew with his humor, charm, and kindness. He spent the last 25 years in a place that he always loved, Vermont, living his dream.

John is survived by his beautiful bride of 59 years, Constance “Connie” Iurato and their 7 children: Christine (m. Christopher), John, Constance (m. John), Nicholas (m. Alex), David (m. Sophie), Jennifer (m. Ben), and Michael (m. Annie). He is also survived by 19 grandchildren, his sister Helen, and many friends.

Reposing, Dwyer & Vanderbilt Funeral Home on Tuesday (today) from 5-8 PM. Funeral Mass, St. John Paul II at Immaculate Conception Church, Sleepy Hollow, NY on Wednesday 11 AM. Interment, Sleepy Hollow Cemetery, Sleepy Hollow, NY to follow.
