Born on May 31, 1921 at home in Brewster, son of Edward and Sarah (Canny) Palmer. He graduated from Brewster High School in 1939 and attended Manhattan College. Bob honorably served in the US Army during WWII.

Bob married the love of his life, Marjorie Jean Edmondson on January 22, 1944 at Ft. Dix, New Jersey. Marjorie died on March 3, 2007. They were blessed to be married for 63 wonderful years.

Bob was a railroad engineer for Metro North Railroad out of Brewster, NY for 41 years, retiring on February 22, 1982. A lifelong member of St. Lawrence O’Toole Church in Brewster, he was also a lifetime member of the VFW Post 672 in Brewster. Bob enjoyed travels with his family and in later years those taken with his wife Marjorie. He enjoyed occasional luncheons with his railroad friends, as well. Bob was very proud to have been responsible for the placement of American Flags through the years at many local cemeteries – a responsibility that came to be known as ‘The Bob Palmer Project’.

O’Dell of Brewster, NY; his sister, Mary Cioccolanti and her husband Joseph of Brewster, NY; his sister-in-law Jane Palmer of Brewster; 6 grandchildren; Colleen Deldin, Kimberly Martins, Craig Deldin, Andrea Deldin, Jonathan Palmer and Brian Palmer; two great grandchildren, Kaitlyn Marie Palmer and Chayse Martins.
