She is energetic. She is excited. She is motivated. Richard  Bland College of William & Mary (RBC) psychology professor Dr. Tiffany Birdsong always walks into her class with a smile on her face, eager to teach and prepare students for their careers.

“Teaching is a difficult profession that is often overlooked,” explains Birdsong. “It requires patience and perserverence.”

A Long Island, New York native, Birdsong was a first-generation college student at Manhattan College. She then earned her master’s degree and doctoral degree in clinical psychology from La Salle University in Philadelphia. Afterward, she worked in Princeton, New Jersey before accepting the Richard Bland College position, for which she had been recommended by her post-doctoral supervisor at La Salle.
