From Tom:

As inevitable as the day was, it was still a bit of a shock to get the phone call yesterday morning. My mother had a really nice visit with just the two of them Saturday evening and I think that dad took comfort in knowing it was his time to go and he went peacefully in his sleep during the night. I know that grief is the price we pay for love and he was greatly loved… he will be greatly missed.

Thanks, of course, for all of the prayerful wishes during his time of illness these last few years. My mother, sisters, and I really appreciate it.
