PRAYERSREQUESTED: Colon, Philip J. (MC1962) prays for two others

2018-Dec-08

Good Afternoon All,

Nancy Maksomski ‘ 98 asks for our prayers for two very good Friends.

First for Dr. Arthur O’Leary, a neighbor and very good Friend of Nancy’ s Family. Fellow Jasper Dr. O’Leary was on our prayer list several months ago. He was called home  quietly in his sleep on Tuesday, December 4, 2018. Nancy tells us that unfortunately, that his Wife, Catherine, was in Hospital recovering from some stomach problems. We pray for the repose of his soul. We pray for his Wife of 64 years, Catherine and their Family as the Family mourn the loss of their loved one. Nancy further tells us that Dr. O’Leary had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed spending time with the Neighborhood Kids. When Nancy left for Manhattan College, he presented her with a stuffed toy RAM and told her to feed it one Jasper a day. He will be missed and Nancy will miss spending time with him. Dr. O’Leary was a United States Army Korean War Veteran who served in the 25th Division Medical Core, serving with distinction as a Battalion Surgeon and was awarded the Silver Star, the Bronze Star and Two Purple Hearts. An amazing feat for a Surgeon. Visitation will be Monday, December 10, 2018, 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM, Millspaugh Funeral Home, Walden, N.Y. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated, Monday, December 10, 12:30 PM at Holy Name of Mary Church, Montgomery, N.Y. The Family have shared the Following Obituary Link

2018-Dec-05

Good Evening All,

Mike McEneney asks for our prayers for his good Friend, Deacon Neil Manning. Deacon Manning’s Son, Mike McEneney’s God Son, Dickey Manning, shared the sad news of the passing of his Father. Deacon Manning was called home this past Tuesday, December 4, 2018 after a very long illness. Mike shared some personal comments about his good Friend.

” Neil attended Manhattan College before becoming a “NavCad” Naval Aviator Program, in the early 1950’s.  He later completed his  degree at NYU after returning to civilian life. Neil worked for the old “Bell Telephone System” his entire career. He was ordained a Deacon in the Arch Diocese Of New York and was assigned to St Barnabas Parish here in Woodlawn, (Mike’s Parish) until he retired to Arizona.”

We pray for the repose of Deacon Mannings Soul and we pray for his Family and Friends as they mourn the loss of their loved one.

PRAYERSREQUESTED: Colon, Philip J. (MC1962) prays for the McCarthy family

2018-Nov-29

Good Morning All,

We have some wonderful news from Tom McCarthy. Tom’s Dad, Big Tom, has been officially declared to be in remission for his Lung Cancer Treatment. The Doctors will continue to monitor Big Tom but it is definitely an improved prognosis. Tom’s Dad has been in our prayers over the last year and this news is very special about this good man. Tom and his Family thank you for your prayers and good thoughts. A prayer of thanks would not be remiss as life goes on.

Regarding Tom’S Mom, Katie,, your prayers are needed. As Tom says, She has been the rock this past year for his Dad and the Family. Tuesday morning upon waking up, Mrs. McCarthy was exhibiting confusion and difficulties with her speech, ultimately diagnosed with a stroke. After being transferred to Westchester Medical Center, a Thrombectomy was done to remove a Clot wherein they discovered another Clot, removing that as well. She was doing well and the next 24–72 hours would be telling as to what permanent damage, if any, remained. This morning I heard from Tom. His Mom is still in ICU and being closely monitored. Her speech and mobility are extremely limited (she has been able to say a few words and repeat some things back and she is unable to move the right side of her body). Mrs. McCarthy will be in ICU for a few more days at least before they can evaluate her for whatever Rehab and Long Term Care she may need. The Family are keeping up hope that she will rebound more over the next 48 to 72 hours as the Doctors say, the next four days are crucial for indicating what recovery will look like.

Please raise the volume for Mrs. McCarthy as we pary that her recovery is strong continues to improve. Please keep Tom, Big Tom, Tom’s Sister and the Family in your prayers during this difficjlt time. Once again, Tom and his Family thank you all for you prayers. Thank you. God Bless.

2018-Nov-29

Good Morning All,

Peter Monaco, a good Friend to several of us and a Member of our Retreat Team asks for our prayers for his Mom. Mrs. Monaco went into hospital on Tuesday Morning diagnosed with Pneumonia.  Shortly thereafter, Low Blood Pressure resulted in her being admitted into ICU where she is now fighting for her life. Without proper Blood Flow, the other organs are struggling. Mrs. Monaco is now under sedation. Please raise the volume for Maureen. We pray that she recovers completely free of complication. We pray for Peter, his Brother, whom I met at our Retreat, and their Family during this time of uncertainty and loving concern. Please keep the volume up. Thank you. God Bless.
