MEXICO – The Center for Instruction, Technology and Innovation recently welcomed Stephanie Maturo as its new Director of Technology.
She came to CiTi with more than 20 years of experience in the fields of education and technology.
Before coming to CiTi, Maturo spent a decade with the Fulton City School District as a network administrator and most recently as its IT Director.
Previous experience includes time as a systems engineer in the business field and a special education teaching position in the mid-1990s.
Maturo obtained her bachelor’s degree in special education from Manhattan College and a master’s degree in elementary education from the New York Institute of Technology in Manhattan. She also received a master’s in educational leadership from St. John Fisher College in Rochester, as well as several technical certifications while in the field.
Maturo said her ultimate goal is to bring school technology directors from throughout Oswego County together to support instructional initiatives.
She is most passionate about using technology as a design partner with classroom teachers to help increase student achievement.
“The most exciting thing is technology can be used to help so many needs she said,” as she noted CiTi’s breadth of IT services. “It’s all about how I can help use tools to increase student achievement or expand their horizons.”
Maturo resides in Liverpool with her husband, three children, ages 14, 13 and 12, and three Maine Coon cats.
